How can you gain the most benefits from chlorophyll?

Chlorophyll-a and Chlorophyll-b are both found in nature and they are similar except both absorb light in different wave lengths. Chlorophyll does not have a stable shelf life and is prone to degrade over time. Chlorophyllin is made in labs for supplements to extend the shelf life and benefits of chlorophyll for humans to consume. Chlorophyllin a.k.a liquid chlorophyll or supplemental chlorophyll is a semi-synthetic mixture of sodium copper salts derived from chlorophyll (source). Chlorophyll that is found in plants is fat soluble and Cholorphyllin that is made for supplements is water soluble.

Other ways to get more Chlorophyll

You can get chlorophyll from eat other plants like raw dark leafy greens like swiss chard, watercress, spinach and other dark leafy greens. But you’ll want to pair them with a fat to help better absorb the chlorophyll. Think avocado dressing or almonds on a salad. Also try to eat raw greens because cooking them will reduce the chlorophyll contents of the plant.

Results may vary when taking chlorophyll. We need understand our bodies and take a holistic approach. While chlorophyll removes toxins, it’s important to limit our exposure to environmental toxins, heavily processed foods, radiation, and anything else that is causing stress to the body. For me watching what I eat and limiting technology in my bedroom are just two ways that I handle reducing toxins and radiation.
